What is a hormone?

A hormone is a chemical messenger within the body. A hormone will interact with itself, other hormones, as well as organs, glands and other tissues of the body.

Hormones are crucial to the way we feel, function and how we age.

What causes a hormone imbalance?

An imbalance can essentially be an excess or deficiency in the body. And hormone imbalance can be very natural; we see this with puberty, pregnancy, and menopause.

However, imbalances can happen for other reasons, such as imbalanced lifestyle and diet, environmental toxins and excessive stress.

These can all cause imbalances to occur within the hormone system.

What are the symptoms of hormone imbalance?

Hormone imbalance symptoms could be quite vast and depend on the symptom or the system these symptoms are coming from.

But that can look like anything from sleep problems to weight gain, decreased muscle mass, energy, and motivation, decreased libido, things like premenstrual symptoms, PMS, hot flashes, night sweats, and joint pain.

It really just depends on what system these symptoms are coming from, and a full evaluation will lead you to the root cause of what is going on and what is imbalanced.
